Contact Group was proud to support the inaugural NECA Tasmania Women in Electro Awards in May 2026, an event organised by the NECA Tasmania Women in Electro Advisory to celebrate and recognise the achievements of women across the electrical industry.
The attendance and energy in the room were wonderful — it was so encouraging to see so many people from across the industry coming together to show their support.
We are incredibly proud to share that three of our own were recognised on the night.
Congratulations to Teena Smith, who took home the Leadership & Mentorship Award — a well-deserved acknowledgement of the example she sets for those around her.
Congratulations also to Elise Nowell, who was named winner of the Commitment to Women in Trades Award, and to Erin Cottuli, who received the Excellence on the Tools Award. Each winner was genuinely moved by the recognition and deeply grateful for the prizes.
On top of these individual honours, Contact Group was awarded the Best Workplace Culture Award. This one belongs to every single person in our team. It is a testament to the welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment that our people build together every day, and we are so grateful to each of you for making Contact Group the place it is.
A big thank you also to the staff members who took the time to nominate their apprentices and colleagues — your support for one another means everything.
On the night, $1,452.00 was raised for charity partner Dress For Success Tasmania, an organisation that empowers women to overcome barriers to employment. A wonderful result and a fitting reflection of the spirit of the evening.
Congratulations to all the winners, and a special acknowledgement to the NECA Tasmania Women in Electro Advisory for bringing this event to life. We look forward to seeing it grow.
