Contact Group recently had the pleasure of partnering with the University of Tasmania on a small but meaningful audio-visual project at Hamlet Café in Hobart.
Working alongside Brad Boron, Manager of Unified Communications at UTAS, our team delivered a simple presentation system for the café. The University of Tasmania generously donated the technology, while Contact Group contributed the labour and installation materials to bring the solution together.
The new setup will enable Hamlet to host presentations, training sessions and small community events within its welcoming Molle Street space.
Hamlet is much more than a café. Founded by CEO Emily Briffa, this social enterprise blends hospitality with hands-on training and support for people facing barriers to employment. Through inclusive pathways and practical skills development, Hamlet creates genuine opportunities for people to build confidence, gain experience and grow their independence.
Projects like this highlight the power of collaboration. When organisations like Contact Group and the University of Tasmania combine their resources and expertise, even modest projects can deliver meaningful community outcomes. We’re proud to support Hamlet and help create a space where learning, connection and opportunity can thrive.
More broadly, Contact Group has supported a range of community organisations and individuals in recent months through sponsorships and donations. This includes carrying out electrical and mechanical installation works at the recently upgraded Shepherd Centre in Hobart, a not-for-profit organisation providing paediatric audiology services across Australia.
In Tasmania’s north-west, Contact Group also delivered a $1,000 donation to Live Well Tasmania, which runs a range of connection-building programs from its Wynyard hub — from sewing groups to yoga, cooking and music classes.
As a Tasmanian-owned family business, we’re proud to support the communities we live and work in, contributing our time, expertise and resources to deliver positive outcomes.
