City of Hobart Fire & Electrical Maintenance

August, 2025

In July 2024 Contact Group was re-awarded the City of Hobart Fire and Electrical Maintenance Contract after an open tender process.

We have successfully managed Fire and Electrical services for the City of Hobart since 2016.

The contract involves regular periodic maintenance at around 56 sites, from community centres and sportsgrounds to parks, fountains and huts.

We complete up to 12 jobs per day and around 250 per month, including maintaining streetlights and sporting ground lighting.

Our dedicated Account Manager, Administration team and technicians have an excellent rapport with Council staff, due to their fast response times, high standard of work and excellent communication around the status of work orders.

Our Job Management System and innovative ideas to create efficiencies for the City of Hobart has seen this contract renewed multiple times.

In December 2023 Contact Group was also awarded the City of Hobart Plumbing Maintenance Contract.

It’s comprised of 29 sites around Hobart and resulted in us hiring more full-time staff to expand our plumbing portfolio.

Our experienced team responds to about 80 work orders a month (reactive maintenance).

In 2025 Contact Group was also re-awarded the City of Clarence Fire and Electrical Maintenance Contract and was the successful tenderer for the Kingborough Council and Glenorchy City Council Fire and Electrical Maintenance Contracts.

We also hold the Fire and Electrical Maintenance Contract for the Burnie City Council.

A huge congratulations to our Service team, led by State Service Manager Dean Medwin.
