The Contact Group held two successful industry nights in the north and south of the state earlier this month, in collaboration with equipment supplier, Commscope. All existing clients were invited to the events at the Country Club and Wrest Point Hotel Casinos, to learn about the latest energy efficient technologies in lighting, and advances in the data and communications sector.
One of the exciting new products discussed was our Ekahau Wi-Fi site survey tool that ensures optimal Wi-Fi performance throughout a building. Working from a floor plan, a 3D model of a building can be generated allowing predictive allocation of wireless access points to ensure sufficient coverage and capacity of the Wi-Fi network. The system considers many factors affecting Wi-Fi performance, such as construction materials, furnishings etc., and will generate heat maps detailing the overall performance of the system. After installation, the Wi-Fi network can be evaluated and audited to ensure performance matches the predicted model and is free from spectrum interference, channel clashes and drop-outs.
Another highlight of the information sessions, was the launch of a new colour changing LED light system by Energy Options International. The tuneable white system has been specifically developed for the health, aged care and education sectors, to promote a healthier work and living environment. It enables LED lights to transition from warm to cool white, via an automatic lighting control system – mimicking the circadian rhythm. Often referred to as the "body clock", the circadian rhythm is a cycle that tells our bodies when to sleep, rise and eat. It’s affected by environmental cues, like sunlight and temperature and when disrupted can result in adverse health effects. The tuneable white system has been developed for use with EOI’s compatible SOLE LED Panel light. To find out more, visit www.eoi.net.au/sole.html.
The industry nights also saw the Contact Group launched as an accredited partner of Verdia, an independent energy expert. Verdia manages Westpac’s Energy Efficient Financing Program and enables Australia’s leading commercial, government and industrial organisations to identify, design and deliver energy efficient and renewable energy projects. Verdia accredited partners are assessed for excellence in the quality of their energy products and services; and integrity in their operations. To find out more, visit www.verdia.com.au.
About 100 people attended the events, which were well received and generated a lot of positive feedback. Special thanks to our guest speakers and all those who attended. The Contact Group looks forward to hosting more industry nights in the future.
