Contact electrical have been installing, testing and setting Fiber Optical cabling for over 15 years. We constantly re-train our staff to ensure their skill sets are at the cutting edge of where this technology is today. Underground Fiber Cable and Pathway Installation

Currently we install underground fiber optics for a multitude of commercial and private customers. Some of these include NBN Co, local councils and governments.

• Long range trunk cabling by use of trailer mounted haulers.
• Rod, rope and verifying service for existing fiber pathway
• Capabilities of installing 1.5 km of fibre cable per day on average.
• Midstream cable splicing within house fusion splicer
• Design and installation of local backbone, multiport and tethers.
• Cable pit installation and repairs

Termination and Testing

Contact Electrical have a large investment in fiber optical test equipment, we believe there is no other way to guarantee the integrity of the fiber optical cable installation without fully testing the cable by various methods.

• Termination of up to 576 core fiber by means of:
• Fusion splicing
• Opticam connectors.
• Camlock connectors.
• Single and multimode cable termination equipment
• Testing, verification and certification of cables by means of:
• Power and light meter
• OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer)

Aerial Fibre Installation

Through our industry partners Contact Electrical have installed a multitude of aerial fiber optical cables, although not a preferred method of installation by many, however sometimes inhibiting terrain leaves no other method for fibre cable installation.
