Eight young players from the BGH Breakers netball program spent part of their July 2026 school holidays at the Australian Sports Camps (ASC) Netball Camp, thanks to fully funded scholarships supported by Contact Group.
Run over three days at the Hobart Netball and Sports Centre, the camp gave players a structured program built around skill development, match play and confidence-building. Sessions covered everything from defensive and attacking play to midcourt work and fitness testing — all aimed at helping each player learn, grow and enjoy the game.
But for the Breakers players, the camp offered more than just netball drills. It gave them a chance to step outside their usual routine, meet new people, and connect with others who share the same love of the sport in a fresh environment.
“This is a great experience for our players to learn new skills and build their confidence,” club coach Tonytah Lawless said. “They’ve come back with fresh confidence and knowledge they can share with their teammates.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to Contact Group for supporting these scholarships,” she added. “Their contribution recognises our players’ commitment to netball and ensures they can take part and make the most of a fantastic opportunity.”
The scholarships are just the latest chapter in Contact Group’s ongoing relationship with the club. Last year, company Directors Annah and Wade Fromberg were thrilled to present U11 teams with new uniforms, designed by the players, featuring the Contact Group logo.
That growth mindset isn’t just showing up on the netball court. BGH Breakers are also expanding into soccer, fielding U6 and U10 teams in the Northern Suburbs Junior Soccer Association — a new chapter for a club known for its inclusive, community-first approach across Bridgewater, Gagebrook and Herdsmans Cove.
“Soccer complements what we’ve built in netball — it’s inclusive, widely loved and accessible for players of all abilities,” club founder Scott Wade said.
Supporting clubs like BGH Breakers reflects Contact Group’s broader commitment to the Tasmanian communities we work in — helping young people stay active, connected, and build skills both on and off the field, while giving back in a way that goes beyond the tools of our trade.
