Project Overview:

The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies know more commonly as IMAS has relocated to a new 45 million dollar building located on Hobart Water front.  IMAS will co locate much of Tasmania’s considerable strengths in Marine and Antarctic Studies under the one precinct, offering opportunities for collaborative research of state, national and international significance.   

Project Scope:

 Contact Group were engaged to supply, install, commission and integrate the below services:

• Interactive HD Video Conferencing system including integrated HD projector with interlocking automated Screens.
• LCD screens linked to video conferencing system for multiple interactions. 
• Sound system, integrated to Video Conferencing with Laptop integration. 
• Ten inch desk mounted touch screens to provide over all room control
• Lighting integration through AMX touch screen and video conferencing
• Twin Projectors with integrated Drop down screens in the world class lecture theatre
• Document camera integrated through projector and control through AMX touch screen
• Radio and Lapel Microphones installation and tuning
• Supply of interactive white boards
• Video conferencing via HD polycom system

Project Outcome:

All the above equipment and systems are fully integrated to create a turnkey solution for the user.  By means of touch screen control the lectures / students can control the rooms equipment and lighting to pre-set levels.  The buildings AV design has an emphasis on simple usability for the user.  This means in most cases the user only need to press one button to start a chain reaction of integrated events
