Contact Group will audit 72 sites around Tasmania to investigate current infrastructure and installation requirements.

Contact Group has started the year on a high, picking up several exciting new contracts that guarantee a busy year ahead for our team.

We are pleased to announce we are just about to commence work on an Electric Vehicle Charging Feasibility Audit of Tasmanian Government sites.

Contact Group’s specialist technicians will be travelling around the state, investigating the current site infrastructure and installation requirements to meet the government’s EV station targets.

In the 2020/21 state budget the former Premier Peter Gutwein announced a 100% EV government fleet by 2030, one of the most ambitious targets of any state in Australia.

Contact Group will audit 72 sites, with the lead contractor Evenergi then reporting to the government on the findings.

Contact Group’s General Manager, Dion Frame, said it’s exciting to be part of the state government’s push into more EV charging stations and helping to deliver such important change for the state, when it comes reducing carbon emissions.

Dion said as a business, we are always striving to be on the front foot when it comes to new and emerging technologies and we’re proud to be part of any renewable energy projects and solutions.

Last year Contact Group installed a new 55kW solar system on Maria Island, and in 2020 carried out a significant solar and high voltage network upgrade on Cape Barren Island.

In addition to the EV Charging Station Audit, Contact Group has been awarded some major maintenance contracts over the past few months.

In December, Contact Group was awarded the facilities maintenance of Mission Australia’s southern property portfolio which includes some 12-hundred homes.

We have also recently been awarded a three year contract for the HVAC maintenance of the Department of Treasury’s sites, including the large Kirksway Place building.

We have also had our Metro statewide Mechanical and Electrical contract extended for a further three years.

This is wonderful recognition for our staff who have previously maintained these sites and speaks volumes about Contact Group’s high standard of work and customer satisfaction.
